Morning Poems

By our amazing Year 6s.

Franziska
Morning songs emerge from the river
Birds chirp to awaken the sunlight
Children dreaming of the forlorn streets
Animals waiting for the wind to swoop the leaves off the skeletal trees
An icy breeze appears
Awakening the children.

Ben
An icy chill penetrates the once warm air
Dew drops glisten on the spider's web as birds chorus together creating a calm melody.
Light shines on the sleepy town, illuminating rooftops
Casting an eerie glow.
A cold wind scatters newspapers and leaves bystanders scrambling for jackets.
Deathly silence falls over citizens as they realise
Summer is over and autumn has begun.

Eva
The ice coated trees
Slowly drip as the sun illuminates against them.
Birds' chirps fill the air with bright coloured sounds.
The souls of the water screeching at its coldness.
All serenity is flooded away.
When all the morning bustle awakens.

Morning dew glistens in the sunlight
Trees stand tall and strong,
The forest creatures lift from their leafy beds
To embrace the new day.

The river's spray flies through the air,
The breeze carries a penetrating chill,
Birds dust off their weary wings,
Their song welcoming the new day.
